ERIC CLAY

Eric was born in Wisconsin but grew up in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He became a believer at the age of 19 during his first year in college. Eric and Melissa met through mutual church friends while living in Abilene. They have been married for 21 years, and have three children: James (14), Emily (12), and Anna (9 3/4). The Clays love the great outdoors and spending time exploring the wild spaces of our country.

The Clay family joined Mercy 10 years ago after attending Park Cities Presbyterian Church, and helping to plant Providence Presbyterian Church. They are community group leaders, and you will often see them serving in children’s ministry or setting up sound and video equipment. Eric has a passion for the work God is doing locally and around the world, and for connecting others to that work. He served on the pastoral search team that called Doug and has been a deacon since 2019. The Clays love Mercy’s commitment to Christ-centered community and making a difference in our city.

Jeff loves to spend time with his family, travel, and be outdoors. He can frequently be found camping with one of the kids through various organizations.
